Nanotech intaglio printing plate from CETIS wins gold

At the beginning of June, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Celje gave awards for the best innovations in the Celje region. The jury were so impressed by CETIS’ innovative Nanotech intaglio printing plate developed by Vladan Mladenovič from R&R New Technologies Department that they gave it the golden award.

The intaglio printing plate is the basis for producing security elements used in printing security printed matter such as banknotes, passports etc. The plate enables impressions of 3D tangible elements which cannot be achieved with other graphic techniques. It is also useful for establishing the authenticity of a print.

The new technology enables:

  • 100% repetition of production,
  • complete control of relief and depth of engraving,
  • engraving to be narrowed controllably with a thicker layer of coating.

This type of printing plate allows considerably thinner printing of lines, which enables the production of additional security elements, which is not possible with current techniques.

This technology is unique to CETIS and opens the way for marketing these printing plates and our own know-how.
